Ushani Nanayakkara Bio

The actions of ordinary people in extraordinary and terrifying circumstances fascinate Ushani, and she turns this interest into stories that keep the reader turning the pages late into the night.

As the child of a Sri Lankan father and a German mother she has lived in Sri Lanka and Germany. She moved to the Seattle area almost thirty years ago. In her day job she manages a team that provides operational support for a large training organization within an insurance company. If she is not writing she spends her free time outdoors hiking, skiing and climbing. Because of this passion, setting, extreme weather, natural disasters and physical challenges often play a role in her novels.

In addition, she has co-authored non-fiction books with her husband Steve Gill on language learners and special education. For more information on these see Non-Fiction Publications, or go to my co-author’s website SteveGillELL.com.
